SuperDad Award: Augustine Francis

SuperDad Award: Augustine Francis

Augustine is a SuperDad because he is the finest example of a risk-taker in changing his job, and he never fails to prove himself in every decision that he makes. He corrects us when we are wrong and supports us in our family decisions. Moreover, he has always encouraged me to attempt the unbelievable, like flying a twin-seater airplane or shooting an AK-47 Rifle. No one would have thought it would be a special gift for a wife. To his daughter, he is always a cool dad, and to me, my lucky charm.

SuperDad Award: Joe Carlos

SuperDad Award: Joe Carlos

My husband Joe is the epitome of a Superfly SuperDad! Ever since the day he delivered our 2.5 year old daughter, Sage (yep you read that right!), he has been the biggest Papa Bear I’ve ever seen.

You see, our daughter decided not keep us all waiting for her arrival, and while the nurses were on a shift-change, decided she was ready to see the world! Her dad, with the direction of the doctor on-call, literally guided her into this world. I continue to watch him do that everyday as he teaches her the important things in life (read: everything about the Dallas Cowboys) and protects her from all hurt, harm, and danger.

Whether they are at the park playing on the slide or sitting on the floor doing puzzles, one thing is clear…they are two peas in a pod. His love for her shines through in every hug, kiss, and playful moment. After endless episodes of Elmo, he is never too tired to give her rides on his shoulders or toss her into the air as she screams with glee. She’s her first love and my last. He’s the best SuperDad ever!

Matteo is our super daddy. Although very busy with his work, he always makes time to spend the evenings and weekends with his family and explore new towns and places. We love our weekends together! He also likes to take our son to his football matches and also taking both our children to the movies.

Superdad Award: Chris Harris

Superdad Award: Chris Harris

My husband Chris is a Superdad to our girls, Elise and Ellery. Smart, talented, and caring, he somehow manages to juggle work and family, while also finding the time to serve at our church and take our girls on daddy-daughter dates (something they absolutely love)! He is a true inspiration and example to those around him, and we couldn’t be luckier to have this Superdad in our lives!

Superdad Award: Joseph Benezra

Superdad Award: Joseph Benezra

Joseph is the type of dad, or “Papi” as the kids call him, who is and always has been an equal partner when it comes to anything and everything involving his three kids, Alexa, Allison, and Jason. From the moment they were born, he was the first to change their diapers, feed them, or do anything for them. I was always asked by other moms, “does he help out with the kids?” He would get very upset with that term. What Joseph did every day wasn’t “helping,” he would say, he was doing as much as I was if not more.

Joseph spent a great deal of time learning to braid the girl’s hair when they were little and would make sure their outfits matched their hair bows. As the kids have gotten older, Joseph became somewhat of a superdad in my eyes as well as in the eyes of other parents we know. At one time, he was coaching both girls in soccer and softball, as well as coaching our son in football, baseball, and even basketball. He would spend seven days a week driving to and from practices and games for all three of our kids and loved every minute of it. His passion for coaching them is evident in the hours he would spend on youtube researching drills and plays for all of their sports. He has chaperoned many class trips with our kids, and even an all-girl 8th grade group with my oldest daughter in Boston. He took the girls to New York when they were eight and six for a daddy-daughter trip and spent hours in the American Girl store getting their dolls hair done and having tea with them and their dolls. On a different occasion, he took Jason to Dallas for a Dallas Cowboys game for a weekend so that Jason could experience his passion for his favorite football team.

There is no limit to what Joseph would do for the kids. They are very blessed to have a hands-on father who they know they can come to for advice, help, and most importantly his time. Our kids will grow up with amazing memories that Joseph has created with them. Our family vacations are what Joseph takes great pleasure in planning, making sure that all of his family has activities they will like. On top of everything, Joseph is somewhat of a gourmet chef. The kids know that when “Papi” is making a meal, it’s going to be delicious and as good as any restaurant. He will spend as long as it takes preparing everything so that we can have a wonderful family meal. We are all very fortunate to have Joseph in our lives. He has made such an enormous impact on our kids and we are thankful for it.
